Nozawa Bar

Beverly HillsOPENLast verified 2026-06-15

Nozawa Bar is a one-Michelin-star, omakase-only sushi counter (10 seats, ~20 courses) opened in 2013, hidden in the back of the SUGARFISH location at 212 N. Canon Drive, Beverly Hills. It was opened by Kazunori Nozawa, Tom Nozawa, Lele Massimini, and Jerry Greenberg (the Sushi Nozawa Group / SUGARFISH founders). Osamu Fujita was founding executive chef from April 2013 to June 2025; Jay Sada then succeeded him as executive chef. It earned one Michelin star in the inaugural 2019 statewide California Michelin Guide and retains a star in the 2025 guide. No documented cases were found of chefs who trained AT Nozawa Bar and then opened their own restaurants; the documented lineage runs the other way (both Fujita and Sada trained under/with Kazunori Nozawa). Note: although the corridor brief references Ventura Boulevard's "Sushi Row," Nozawa Bar is in Beverly Hills, not on Ventura Blvd; its connection to that lineage is through Kazunori Nozawa, whose original Sushi Nozawa (1987-2012) was at 11288 Ventura Blvd in Studio City.
